Dinos Season Off to a Fighting Start
The 2025 season is underway, and the University of Calgary Dinos men’s and women’s golf teams have already shown the grit and resilience that define our program. Two events in, I can confidently say this group has the right mix of talent, energy, and teamwork to make the year memorable.
We opened in Lethbridge at Paradise Canyon, where the men battled through tough conditions to edge the University of Alberta by a single shot. That margin is all the reminder we need—every shot counts. Sam McKeown led the way with a four-under performance, while strong support from Sam Bratvold and Adam Reed sealed the team win. On the women’s side, rookie Brooke Tombs announced her arrival with a bronze medal in her very first event, while Georgia Mackenzie and the rest of the squad showed the depth we’ll be relying on all season.
At our home event the following week at Springbank Links, both teams mounted comeback performances to capture the titles in front of our Calgary supporters. Adam Reed earned individual gold with steady play, while the women dug deep to claim their share of the hardware. Those final-round rallies spoke volumes about our culture—no deficit is too large when belief and preparation come together.
As Head Coach, I couldn’t be more proud. Alongside Assistant Coach Greg Johnson, our goal remains simple: keep building momentum, keep learning, and keep proving that the Dinos are a force in Canadian university golf.
Every shot matters. Every player matters. Go Dinos.
